Definition

A general term collectively referring to the SF-424B ("Assurances - Non-Construction Programs") and SF-424D ("Assurances - Construction Programs"). These two OMB-approved forms outline federal rules and laws financial assistance recipients are obligated to comply with in the management of their federal awards.

Department Policy

Agencies may, unless prohibited by statute or codified regulation, allow its financial assistance award recipients to submit their Statement of Assurances on an annual basis.[1] Failure of award recipients to abide by any of the listed assurances is grounds for enforcement of noncompliance by awarding bureau.[2]

Service Policy

A signed and dated Statement of Assurances is required with application packages submitted for financial assistance awards.

The SF-424D is used for real property acquisition applications.
