The Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program has been working toward updating the regulations for the Clean Vessel Assistance Program (CVA) at 50 CFR 85 for several years. Many thanks to a strong and engaged partnership of Federal, State, and local governments, industry, NGOs, and other partners for advising the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on ways to make improvements to the current regulations that were published in 1994 and 1997.As of February 2024, the Service is routing the proposed rule for approvals to publish in the Federal Register. We will post information here to update you on progress and keep you posted on opportunities to provide further comment. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program (WSFR) is updating the Clean Vessel Act Grant Program (CVA) regulations at 50 CFR 85. As part of the process, WSFR has engaged with the CVA community of practice by hosting pre-regulatory discussions to gauge needs, attitudes, and benefits and to use the feedback received to update the regulations to better serve the purposes of CVA.
