What are the steps the recipient must take to complete enrollment in ASAP?

Step 1: Initiate Enrollment

The recipient organization must complete the USFWS ASAP Enrollment Form. The completed form is submitted to the FWS program awarding the grant or cooperative agreement. The FWS program completes their portion of the form and forwards to the Financial Assistance Systems Branch (FAS).

The FAS will initiate the federal agency will inititate a recipient's enrollment by entering in ASAP by entering information specific the information specific to that organization using the USFWS ASAP Enrollment Form submitted by the recipient, including an individual who including the organization's individual that will serve as the Point point of Contact contact (POC). Once entered, the POC is assigned a User ID and temporary password in ASAP's access control system and is sent email notifications. The User ID and password are sent in separate emails for security purposes. If the recipient organization has never enrolled in ASAP before, the email the POC receives from ASAP should contain their new user ID, a hyperlink that must be clicked on, along with a message saying that their temporary password will be sent to them by regular mail.  If they do not want to wait for the password to arrive by regular mall, with any other federal agency, ASAP will assign the recipient organization's POC a User ID and send an email to the POC with the User ID and a link to set up security questions and a password.  This step cannot be completed until a temporary password is received by the POC.  The temporary password is sent to the POC by regular mail. Rather than wait for the temporary password to be received by regular mail, the POC can call the Richmond Federal Reserve at 804-697-8384 (option 3 to speak with an assistant) to request a temporary password.   They will send them a temporary password to their email address.  The Fedral Reserve will send the POC a temporary password via email.

If the recipient organization is enrolled in ASAP with another Federal agency, the POC will receive an email notifying them that banking data must be entered to connect with the FWS agency location code (ALC).
