In the Project Leaders Course, WSFR Training Branch staff instructs students that the "Purpose" states a desired outcome of the project in general terms. Compared to the "Objectives" which states a desired outcome that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound (SMART).
For example:
Purpose: Increase the number of boating access facilities for anglers and boaters.
Objective: Construct one new boating access facility on Sleepy Creek Lake by June 30, 2016.
